BuildPrint Construction 3D Printing Robot Swarm Completes 10 Houses in Dubai: Each in Just 72 Hours

US construction robotics company ICON's BuildPrint robot swarm completes batch construction of 10 detached houses in Dubai, with each 150-square-meter home built from foundation to roof in just 72 hours.

US construction robotics company ICON announced on July 1, 2028, that its BuildPrint construction 3D printing robot swarm completed batch construction of 10 detached houses in Dubai. The BuildPrint system uses three large 3D printing robots working in coordination, layering special high-strength concrete to print wall structures. Each house has 150 square meters of floor space (3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and open-plan kitchen-living room) and took just 72 hours from foundation to structural completion, at a total cost of approximately $120,000—about 40% less than traditional construction. Dubai Municipality has approved occupancy permits for all 10 houses and plans to apply BuildPrint technology to affordable housing projects by 2029.
